Praia do Antigo & Praia dos Antiguinhos
Wild stops on the way between Sono and Ponta Negra. Great for snorkeling between rocks.
About the beach
Two practically virgin beaches that are on the coastal trail between Praia do Sono and Ponta Negra. They are not an isolated destination — they are part of the Travessia da Juatinga itinerary. Perfect for a picnic, snorkeling and contemplation in clear waters protected by rocks.
How to get there
Depart from Praia do Sono following the coastal trail towards Ponta Negra (~45 min walk). The beaches are on the route. There is no direct boat access.
Features of the sea
Transparent waters, fine sand bottom. Small and protected by rock formations. Great for snorkeling.
Structure on site
No structure. Wild. Bring everything you need: water, snacks, sunscreen.
Best time
All year round. Best on days without recent rain (slippery trail).
Security and alerts
Coastal trail with sections of rocks. No help nearby. Go accompanied, with water and suitable footwear.
Practical tips
Antigão (Praia do Antigo) is larger and more open; Antiguinhos is a smaller and more hidden beach, just before arriving at Ponta Negra. Both are perfect stops for snorkeling. Don't skip these beaches in a hurry — they're part of the experience.
Curiosities
The names refer to the old caiçara occupations along this coast. Local residents used these coastal paths daily to travel between communities. The itinerary preserves this historical way of walking.
