São Gonçalo Beach

About the beach

São Gonçalo is one of Paraty’s longest beaches, with a broad stretch of golden sand and generally calm, warm water. Buildings do not line the entire shore, while kiosks are concentrated near the access points. Boats leave from here for Ilha do Pelado, about 1 km offshore.

How to get there

Follow BR-101 toward Angra dos Reis for about 30 km. Parking, restrooms, and showers are available near the access points. There is no direct bus service, so driving is usually the most practical option.

Sea conditions

The water is generally calm and warm, although conditions can change. Swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, and kayaking are possible when weather and sea conditions are favorable.
