Data we handle
Through the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message. Acknowledging this notice is required to send the form, but the current database has no separate field that stores that acknowledgement.
We also record the IP address and the message date and time for security and abuse prevention. The hosting provider may keep technical access logs needed to operate and protect the service.
Why we use the data
We use this data to receive and answer enquiries, secure the form, limit abusive attempts and diagnose technical failures.
We do not sell data submitted through the form, and the public website does not offer visitor accounts.
Storage, retention and technical providers
Messages remain in the website infrastructure for as long as necessary to handle the enquiry, protect the service and meet applicable obligations. The period may vary with the context of the request.
Technical providers may access data strictly when needed for hosting, maintenance or security. Map links and other external websites follow their own policies when you choose to open them.
When you view the interactive map area, your browser requests map images directly from OpenStreetMap servers. During that connection, the provider may receive technical data such as the IP address, browser identification and page origin. Guia de Paraty does not request your automatic geolocation and does not send favorites or form content to the map. We do not provide offline map downloads.
Cookies and local storage
The gp_locale cookie stores the language preference. The browser uses the guiadeparaty-theme localStorage key to remember the light or dark theme.
Favorites stay in this browser’s localStorage and do not require an account. They are not sent to the server, the map or analytics. They may disappear when you clear browser data and do not sync between devices. The website does not currently provide offline installation or a PWA.
Your rights
You may ask for information, confirmation and access, correction and, where applicable, restriction, anonymization, portability or deletion. You may also ask about sharing and submit requests to the competent authorities.
