About the beach

Trindade brings together four beaches with distinct settings and sea conditions within a historic coastal village. Cachadaço and its clear natural pool, inside Serra da Bocaina National Park, are among the main highlights.

How to get there

Follow BR-101 toward São Paulo to the signed Trindade turnoff, about 27 km from Paraty. Municipal buses serve the village; confirm the current schedule. Park in a designated area and walk between the beaches.

Sea conditions

Varied: Cepilho has strong waves (surfing); Meio and Ranchos have calm waters; Cachadaço has crystal clear natural pools protected by rocks, up to 1 m deep.

On-site facilities

The village has inns, restaurants, bars, and small grocery stores. Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards may be available for rent. Boats to Cachadaço leave from Meio and Ranchos.

Best time

Visit on a weekday or during the low season to avoid crowds. Weekends and holidays can be very busy.

Safety and advisories

Each beach has different risks: Cepilho faces strong surf, while the trails and rocks around Cachadaço may be slippery. Follow ICMBio rules—no fires, amplified sound, collecting natural materials, or pets at the natural pool.

Practical tips

Start early if you plan to include Cachadaço and the natural pool. The route from Praia do Meio is on foot; boat service from Ranchos depends on conditions. Pack out all trash and follow park rules.

Curiosities

Trindade was a hippie stronghold in the 1970s and resisted real estate speculation for decades. Cachadaço is located within the Serra da Bocaina National Park — its natural pools are protected by law. The village has been a community of artisanal fishermen for generations.
