AVOID: JANUARY TO MARCH
Heavy daily rains, muddy trails with risk of slipping, rough seas, mosquitoes.

ESSENTIALS FOR ANY VISIT TO MAMANGUÁ
— Minimum 2L of water per person per day on trail
— Sunscreen and repellent (mandatory)
— Closed footwear for trails (do not wear flip-flops)
— Cash (no Pix or card in remote communities)
— Powerbank charged (scarce signal and electrical energy)

LOCAL GUIDE
For any stretch beyond Praia do Sono, hiring a local guide is strongly recommended. The Juatinga trails do not have complete signage in all sections.

RESPONSIBLE TOURISM
— Don't leave trash: carry everything you bring
— Ask permission before photographing residents
— Do not collect shells, corals or vegetation
