Paraty Carnival took place from February 13 to 17, 2026. The program opened officially in the Historic Center and brought street blocos, processions, and live music to Jabaquara, Chafariz, Trindade, Prainha, and Quilombo do Campinho as well.

Five days of street Carnival
Paraty Carnival ran for five days, from February 13 to 17, 2026. The official opening took place on the evening of February 13 in the Historic Center, with the ceremonial handover of the city key to Rei Momo and a procession led by Banda Santa Cecília.
The program brought together blocos, processions, live music, and family matinees in different parts of the municipality. Because the edition has ended, this page serves as a historical record; times and attractions for the next edition should be confirmed once the new calendar is published.
Blocos, processions, and traditions
In the Historic Center, the 2026 program combined Banda Santa Cecília, independent blocos, and groups such as Vamos Que Tô, Unidos da Ilha, Paraty do Amanhã, Tribo do Samba, and Meninos do Pontal. Maracatu Tira o Mofo and Assombrosos do Morro joined processions on specific days.
The Municipal Gazette confirms Assombrosos do Morro on February 14 and 16 and Rei Momo’s presence throughout all five days of Carnival. These records help distinguish the documented 2026 program from general descriptions of earlier editions.
From the Historic Center to local neighborhoods
The 2026 celebrations extended beyond the Historic Center. In Jabaquara, Bloco da Lama took to the streets on Saturday, February 14, while Arrastão do Jabaquara held activities on February 15 and 17. Chafariz hosted live music throughout the period.
Trindade and Prainha also hosted attractions from February 13 to 17. At Quilombo do Campinho, Carnaval dos Povos held a procession with Bloco Afro do Campinho on February 14. The program reviewed does not list any main Carnival activity in Paraty Bay.
