Brava Beach in Trindade

About the beach

A wild beach with fine light sand, Atlantic Forest and a freshwater stream. The short trail from the road leads to a quiet stretch of open sea.

How to get there

From Trindade: signposted trail leaving the village center (~10–15 min walk).

Sea conditions

The sea ranges from moderate to rough and can have strong waves and currents. Enter the water only when conditions are safe.

On-site facilities

There are no regular facilities. A freshwater stream reaches the beach, but bring drinking water, food and sun protection.

Best time

Choose a dry day with a favorable sea forecast. The trail can become slippery after rain.

The open ocean, waves, and currents require experience. The dirt trail becomes slippery in rain; wear closed-toe shoes and stay out of the water during heavy surf.

Curiosities

In the 1970s, Praia Brava was an improvised camp for young surfers and hippies who discovered Trindade before mass tourism. The access trail has preserved the wild character of the beach over the decades.

Best for surfers and hikers who are comfortable around the open ocean. It is not recommended for children, travelers with limited mobility, or casual swimming on high-surf days.
