About the beach

Ranchos has the widest range of visitor facilities in Trindade, including kiosks, restaurants, and shaded areas. The usually calm water suits families, and boats to the Cachadaço Natural Pool leave from the pier.

How to get there

Follow BR-101 toward São Paulo and take the Trindade turnoff, about 27 km from Paraty. Park in a designated area in the village; the beach is roughly a 5–10 minute walk away.

Sea conditions

The water is generally calm and suitable for children with supervision. Rock formations at either end may offer simple snorkeling when conditions allow.

On-site facilities

Kiosks, restaurants, restrooms, a pier with boats to Cachadaço, and seasonal kayak and stand-up paddleboard rentals. Cell service is usually available.

Best time

Open year-round. Weekends are often busy, while weekdays are usually quieter.

Safety and advisories

This is an active boarding area with boat traffic, so swim away from the pier. Supervise children and check sea conditions before continuing to Cachadaço.

Practical tips

Boats to Cachadaço depart from the pier, but operation and fares vary. Ask the kiosks about the day's catch and arrive early on weekends. Swim away from the pier and pack out all trash.

Curiosities

The name Ranchos refers to fishing shelters where local fishers stored equipment and rested. These structures are part of Trindade’s caiçara fishing heritage.
