The main trail inside Saco do Mamanguá climbs 425 m in just 1.5 km — an extreme incline offset by a view that few see outside of Paraty.
HOW TO GET TO THE BASE
Boat from Paraty-Mirim to Praia do Cruzeiro. The trail starts near the Orlando restaurant, a local landmark.
TRAIL
1.5 km of steep climb through dense forest. Fixed ropes in some sections. Time: 40 min (athletes) to 2h (easy pace). No technical sections with equipment, but it requires good physical fitness and resistance.
WHAT TO SEE AT THE TOP
360° view of Saco do Mamanguá: the 33 beaches, the mangrove forest, the caiçara communities and the surrounding mountains. The feeling of seeing the fjord from above is described by local guides as "the best view of Costa Verde".
