About the beach
Cachadaço Beach and its natural pool are among Trindade’s main attractions. Large rocks shelter the shallow, clear pool, where fish may be visible when sea conditions are calm. The area lies within Serra da Bocaina National Park.
How to get there
The trail begins at Praia do Meio, covers about 1.5 km, and takes roughly 20–25 minutes. Boats may also leave from Praia dos Ranchos; availability and fares vary by day.
Sea conditions
The natural pool is sheltered by rocks and generally has little wave action. It is up to about 1 m deep and may suit swimming and snorkeling when conditions are safe. Cachadaço Beach itself faces the open ocean and can have stronger currents.
On-site facilities
There are no kiosks or visitor services at the beach or natural pool. Bring only what you need, pack out all trash, and follow national park rules.
Best time
Open year-round. On weekends, arrive before 9 a.m. because the natural pool often becomes crowded around midday. Weekdays usually have fewer visitors.
Safety and advisories
The trail and rocks become slippery in rain, and the beach faces the open ocean. At the natural pool, follow ICMBio rules: bring only water and do not take food, other drinks, coolers, or pets.
Practical tips
Start early on the 1.5 km trail from Praia do Meio, or confirm boat service at Ranchos. Wear shoes with good grip and take only water into the natural-pool area. Stay on marked paths and pack out all trash.
Curiosities
Cachadaço is part of Serra da Bocaina National Park and is protected under federal law. Large granite boulders form the natural barrier around the pool and define this section of Trindade’s coast.
